ABOUT US
Success in Recovery is a non-profit agency providing residential care to male youth. The program delivers a rigorous and therapeutically intense milieu that addresses exploitive issues, drug and alcohol abuse/addiction, gang behavior, abuse victimization and attachment issues, while simultaneously preparing the youth for independent living. The first phase is dedicated to behavior modification through a positive peer culture, that emphasizes socialization skills and introduction to a relapse prevention plan. The youth shall actively participate in basic life skills training and shall understand and memorize the rules of the home.
The next phase of the program introduces the youth to life skills education and application. A comprehensive curriculum gives instruction beginning with self concept and resume preparation; expanding to employment applications, interviews and finally independent living. During this phase the youth should openly discuss his compulsive, addictive behaviors; recovery and other treatment issues.
The last phase (mastery) will place emphasis on building trust with the youth so that he may enter into the community by obtaining a job or attending public school. The youth shall continue to work on their exploitive cycle, display advanced socialization and relationship skills and be grounded in their treatment issues. They shall begin composing an aftercare plan which shall consist of an escape plan, and an independent living plan. Concurrent to these phases the youth shall participate in a daily accountability group, weekly individual and group therapy, and maintain “full time” student status. College admission assistance available as age appropriate.
